Mumtaz A. Kazim, MD, ABFP

            Dr. Mumtaz Kazim is the President and QI Director for Edina Family Physicians.  She has over 20 years of family practice experience.  Areas of special interest in addition to Family Practice are Aesthetics and Skin Care, Sports Medicine, and Women’s Health.

            During her education, Dr. Kazim received her undergraduate degree in Pre-Med at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.  She then attended medical school at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India.  She completed her internship at Port of Spain Hospital, Trinidad and her residency in the Family Practice Department at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.  She began her practice in July, 1985.

            Dr. Kazim is married to Hossein Aliabadi, a Pediatric Urologist, and they live in Edina.  They have one daughter.  Her personal hobbies include piano, cooking, theater and world travel.

Dr. Kazim has received the distinguished Top Doc award for 2009/2010 from Mpls. St. Paul Magazine. This award is given in recognition for the exceptional patient care she provided to her patients. Recipients of this award are chosen by their peers. 

Most recently Dr. Kazim has been honored in the Minnesota Monthly Magazine (May 2010) as one of the "Top 238 BEST Doctors for Women".
