            Dr. James A. Rohde is the HIPAA Director for Edina Family Physicians and has over 30 years of experience in Family Practice.  He joined EFP in 1975.  Areas of special interest include Primary Care of Individuals with Disabilities and Multigenerational Families.

            During his education, Dr. Rohde received his Bachelor of Science – Honors College, from Michigan State University in 1966.  He attended medical school at the University of Michigan until 1970.  He completed a rotating internship at Hartford Hospital; Hartford Connecticut.  He then spent 1 year as a Medical Mission Doctor in Zimbabwe, Africa returning to complete a year of surgical training.  His experience in Africa gave birth to his interest in family medicine which he then pursued as a  Family Practice Fellow at the University of Minnesota from 1973 – 1975.  Dr. Rohde received his Master of Science degree in Family Practice & Community Health at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis in 1976.  He is currently the Chairman of the Facilities Committee for "Healing Hands for Haiti".  The committee is in the process of building a rehab hospital in Haiti.

            Dr. Rohde is married with 6 children, 2 grandchildren, and his personal hobbies include golf, boating and travel.
